Examples of Undetected Sources

Sources not detected:

[001100-M2] [001100-M2] [001100-M2]
EPIC M2 image (netscape)  EPIC M2 image (ds9)  EPIC M2 image with sources overlaid (ds9): the red lines indicate sources missed in the source detection process. Often the sources are detected in one or both of the other cameras, see below.

 for comparison in PN:

   EPIC PN image (ds9):

Suspected multiple sources detected as single:

[001557-PN] [001557-PN] [001557-PN]
EPIC PN image (netscape)  EPIC PN image (ds9)  EPIC PN image with sources overlaid (ds9): the fat circles are flagged as 'Possible multiple' with the second source marked with a red cross.

 for comparison with different contrast:

   EPIC PN image (ds9):

Undetected 'extension' of the bright central source:

[000498-PN] [000498-PN] [000498-PN]
EPIC PN image (netscape)  EPIC PN image (ds9)  EPIC PN image with sources overlaid (ds9): the fat circle is flagged as 'Possible multiple' with the second source marked with a red cross. This source does not seem to be a point source and therefore the source comment 'Possibly extended' will be added to its coordinates in the DPSS-log report.
