Developer's notes

First, the task reads the file EPIC FITS file containing the input source and background time series EPIC FITS file. While recovering all data needed to plot, it checks the consistency of some keywords [1] :

If either of these keywords are wrong or missing, a warning is raised. No other checks are performed on file format or binary table coherence.

elcplot then recovers all the light curves contained in the table.

Before opening the plot, a test on the device selected (output file + device type) is performed. If the device is unavailable, the task raises a flag and exits properly.

Plots show time on the X-axis against count rates on the Y-axis. Each data point is drawn with its error bar.

The version of elcplot is also included in the bottom left hand corner.
